Hello and welcome back to another Blog! If there are any new people on my blog, hello and welcome! This term for our P.B.L project, we are doing Discrimination and how we can stop it and stand up. We were able to choose to do a Poetry Slam, Podcast, Drama or TED Talk. Me and my buddy chose to do Poetry Slam and about Racism. We are doing to stop Racism and we'll share about some stories that actually happened to people around the world.
Sexism - Sexism is where male/female aren't allowed to do things male/female can do, that's SEXISM. People can't change their gender so they shouldn't be judged for being that gender.
Ageism - Ageism is where you aren't allowed to do some stuff because of your age, some, for your safety. But if you can't do something because of your age and have no reason, that's ageism. If they have no reason for it to be 13+, 16+ or 18+, well they should be allowed to do it.
Racism - Racism is VERY common, it happens a lot around the world. What is it? Well, it's where you hate someone for their skin colour. People shouldn't do that, God made them special that way and we are all made out of the same thing so we shouldn't bully other for that, again, we are all made of the same thing.
Able-ism - Able-ism is where you discriminate someone for having something like glasses, permanent wheel-chairs and more. People shouldn't hate them for being like that, they are special that way and people can't change that
Religious Discrimination - Religious Discrimination is where you judge someone for being that Religion, like for being Jewish or Buddhist, well they shouldn't be judged, they can have their religion if they want, that's who they are.
What is Discrimination? - Discrimination is where you hate someone for who they are. Like hate someone for their skin, religion or gender.
What does an up stander do? - An up stander stands up to people being discriminated against. They show what a great role model is. Anyone can be an up stander, you don't have to be someone special to do it, even if you've done some wrong things, you can still be and up stander.
What does it mean to speak up? - Speaking up is being an up stander, speaking up can encourage others not to discriminate against others. Anyone should be able to speak up and help others, anyone can.
What are stereotype's or bias? - A bias is where you just listen to someone getting discriminated against and not actually stand up and/or you agree with someone who is discriminating others, it's actually pretty much being a bully, well, don't be a bully, be and up stander.
What are different types of Discrimination? - Sexism, Racism, Ageism, Able-ism and Religious Discrimination.
