I n f e r e n c e s

Heyyo guys!

For Reading this week, my goal was "Independently predict, interpret and analyse text, 'reading between the lines' to gain deeper meaning." I read a book named Fever. It's about a girl named Carly who goes camping at a place that was once a sanatorium. I made a slide with my friend Sophie who was doing the same thing as me. Here is the link to the slide.

R e a d i n g T 2 W 9

Heyyo guys! Welcome back to another blog.

This blog will be about my reading create task for week 9. My reading goal was; Visualise using all of the senses, and talk about how this enriches meaning. My create task was that we had to draw what we visualised when we read a line from a story. The line from a story that I picked was; The trees were still dripping from their soaking the previous night and the ground underfoot was soft pale mud, with fresh footprints.

M a t h s T 2 W 4

Heyya guys! Welcome back to another blog.

My goal for maths T2 W4 was; use more than one way to find a theoretical probability, make sensible statements about information with reference to supporting evidence. My create task was that I added things I would do during quarantine on a website with a wheel then I spun it a few times and wrote things down on a google drawing, then I made a few statements.

P o e m

During quarantine, for online class, I made a poem.

My poem is a love poem so it's REALLY cringe. For our Writing workshop in week 4, we had to write a poem about something. My Writing goal was; selects words or phrases to enhance meaning and/or mood confidently shape ideas for effect. I used some websites to help me with rhyming.

T e r m 2 W e e k 8

Heyyo guys! Welcome back to another blog.

In this blog, it will be about my week, aka week 8.
This week, the Kaupeka hub has separated into our 3 different homebases.
We still worked on Reading, Writing and Maths. For reading, we had different tasks that we could do. I did a Book Cover, a Wanted Poster and a Book Review for my tasks. For Writing, we had to make a plan and write a short story. My short story is about a fox getting food for his family for the winter but he gets lost and he has to find his way home and his parents. For Maths, we could choose different goals. Beginner, Step up and Advanced. I have already finished the Beginner goal a while ago so I had to do the Step up one.

Reading

For Reading, my Wanted Poster was about Green Eggs and Ham and about the character, Sam I am. My Book Cover was about a book called Tragic Theaters and I made the book cover about a girl onstage wearing a haunted jacket. My Book Review was about both of them. My goal for reading was "select from a wide range of genre when reading independently."

Writing

I've changed up my story a bit but I've still stuck with the plan.
Autumn's Cold BreezeStory Plot Plan

Maths

The Step up goal was: Use a broad range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems with whole numbers and decimals. When I started doing the maths, at first, I was getting quite confused. But when I understood it, I did maths really maths.

~ Summary of Wild Boy ~

Hello aliens and welcome back to Blog Planet! This blog will be about a summary of Wild Boy. Intro: Wild Boy. A journal of Brando Yelavich and written by Stephanie Chamberlin. The first person to walk around New Zealand’s entire coastline. Brando decided to do everything by himself along the way, hunting or fishing for food. Brando was also hoping to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald house. He took 600 hundred days to cross NZ’s entire coastline.

Main Point 1: Brando Yelavich was the first person to walk around New Zealand’s entire coastline, and was also hoping to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald house. He was all alone on his journey, nobody to talk too.

Main Point 2: Whenever it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, Brando would hunt for his food. He wanted to do everything by himself, by hand. His first day hunting for food was a challenge. One time, he ate a squashed weta on the bottom of his boot, and also another time, he at a possum!

Main Point 3: Having 600 hundred days alone was a real challenge,  it’s like being the only one on Earth. Brando walked so much kilometers and raised more than $30,000 for the charity he chose. And then he wrote “Wild Boy” and became one of the top books!

Main Point 4: Brando said “Life is just too good” and “The universe is an incredible place there’s beauty all around us” Now that Brando’s life is back to “normal” he’s enjoying every single day as  it come’s. He’s got a job as well. He also wants to tell everyone to get out there and do what they want to do. Even though it was hard, he still continued to finish his journey.

“Life is just too good”
“The universe is a beautiful place, there’s beauty all around us”
